Who We Are, What We Do

As a pioneer in analytical services for direct marketing, Demographic Research Company (DRC) has provided custom modeling services and modeling software to companies across industries since 1975. DRC’s clients include companies in financial services, insurance, catalogue, retail, publishing, telecommunications, fund raising, high technology, automotive, and consumer goods.

DRC has constructed models for business-to-consumer and business-to-business applications, which have supported our clients’ direct mail, telemarketing, and online advertising programs. DRC’s models have successfully improved clients’ promotional campaigns for customer prospecting, retention, reactivation, cross-sell, and up-sell. The models also significantly enhance clients’ efforts in risk containment and site selection.

DRC adopts a customized approach that uniquely fits the modeling methodology and choice of techniques to the marketing and data requirements of each project. Dr. Richard Li

Dr. Richard LiDr. Li is President of Demographic Research Company and a leading expert on predictive modeling, data mining, and database marketing. Dr. Li has over 20 years of experience in the direct marketing industry and has consulted numerous companies on issues regarding predictive modeling, database marketing, and market research. Before joining DRC in 1989, Dr. Li managed marketing database at Transamerica Financial Corporation. Subsequently, Dr. Li helped establish TRW Credit Data’s Risk Modeling and Credit Management Services. Dr. Li received his B.A. degree from the University of Hawaii and Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle. He has held faculty positions at several major universities, including the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the University of Denver. He has published articles on modeling and database marketing in professional and trade journals and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
